Rogério M. Pinto was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare. The Academy comprises distinguished scholars and practitioners dedicated to achieving excellence in the fields of social work and social welfare through high-impact work that advances social good. Fellow status is among the highest professional accolades the Academy bestows on social work scholars; Michigan Social Work now has 13 Academy members. Pinto is the School of Social Work’s Associate Dean for Research and Innovation, University Diversity Social Transformation Professor, and the Berit Ingersoll-Dayton Collegiate Professor of Social Work. Pinto will be inducted into the academy during a ceremony at the Society for Social Work and Research’s annual conference.

SSWR Fellows
The Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR) Fellows are members who have served with distinction, embodying the mission of the Society -- to advance, disseminate, and translate research that addresses issues of social work practice and policy and that promotes a diverse, equitable and just society.
The SSWR Fellowship honors current SSWR members for their accomplishments, leadership and contribution to SSWR as a scientific society. It is expected that SSWR Fellows will serve as role models and mentors for individuals pursuing careers in social work research and will continue to actively advance the mission of SSWR.
Eligibility for the SSWR Fellow designation is determined by participation in leadership, scholarship, service, presentation, recognition and mentoring.
