The sheer determination and work that it takes to help a maltreated child begin to feel safe is often shocking and overwhelming to the family. This training will consider the ways we can train and support foster parents to decode, understand, and meet the deep need for human connectedness and felt safety that children residing in foster care require. This training will utilize exercises, small and large group discussions, and visual displays.

Registration for this course is closed. Visit the CE Course Catalog for more offerings.

For all students currently enrolled in field, the Final Educational Agreement is due to the Office of Field Instruction.

The Educational Agreement is not considered complete until the student completes and submits their End of Term (Tab 3), and the Field Instructor rates the student's Practice Behaviors in Assignments (Tab 2) and completes and approves Tab 3.  OFI recommends that the student submits their End of Term information (including their Key Learning Experience) to their Field Instructor at least one week before the due date to allow the Field Instructor time to review and complete their steps.
