MasterTrack MSW Online Program

Complete the MasterTrack Certificate and your MSW Online with the #1 School of Social Work

Once you successfully finish your MasterTrack certificate and are admitted to the MSW online program, you continue your MSW degree requirements online part-time. The online curricular pathway is Interpersonal Practice in Integrated Health, Mental Health, & Substance Abuse which prepares you to become a licensed clinical social worker.

  • You will have assistance from an admission counselor and academic advisor
  • You can connect with faculty one-on-one during office hours

Admissions Requirements

  • Learn about the requirements for the MSW program
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required
  • Candidates with previous human service experience are strongly preferred
  • Submit the Eligibility Review Request form

Apply to the MasterTrack MSW Online Program

  • Step 1
    Send your resume and Eligibility Review Request form to the Office of Student Services, Candidates with previous human service experience are strongly preferred.
  • Step 2
    Your resume and interest form will be reviewed to assess eligibility for the MasterTrack MSW program. Once approved, schedule an admissions consultation with the Office of Student Services,
  • Step 3
    Complete and submit an MSW application. Your application will receive a full MSW program admissions review.
  • Step 4
    Start your MasterTrack certificate.
  • Step 5
    After successful admission and completion of the MasterTrack certificate continue your MSW courses online.

Program Requirements

  • Successful completion of MasterTrack certificate.
  • Admission to the MSW program.
  • Students in the MasterTrack Online MSW program will visit U-M in Ann Arbor where they will complete a weekend social work course.

Financial Aid

Once you are accepted into the MasterTrack MSW program, you are eligible for grants, scholarships and other forms of financial aid. For information please refer to the MSW Guide to Financial Aid. There is no financial aid available for the online MasterTrack certificate.


  • Begin on 9/7/20 and complete the certificate 5/3/21
  • Start your program at U-M in Ann Arbor on 5/21/21 to 5/23/21 where you will complete a weekend social work course and meet your cohort
  • Continue MSW courses online starting 5/24/21
