Yatesha D. Robinson
Assistant Director of Field Education, Online Program and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor
Yatesha Robinson joined the Office of Field Education as a Field Faculty and Lecturer in 2018. She has been working with non-profit organizations since 1997, with 21 years of direct service experience with women, children, youth and families. She has served the community in various capacities, including mental health and economic empowerment at Girls Group, and pregnancy counseling at Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw where she supported women in the community and at the Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility.
Prior to moving to Ann Arbor in 2010, Yatesha served as the Director of Family Support Services for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kalamazoo where she provided services to fathers, families and teen parents. Her primary focus has been on interdisciplinary prevention and early intervention for children, youth and families. She began teaching undergraduate and graduate courses at Western Michigan University in 2004 and graduate courses at the University of Michigan’s School of Social Work in 2015.
Research Interests/Focus
Wellbeing in African American women, mental health and wellbeing, health disparities, racial microaggressions, children and youth.
