  1. Asian Studies at U-M: A Brief History

    As the U-M celebrates its bicentennial, it is important to consider the significant place of Asian Studies in its history. In his lecture, Professor Donald Lopez will consider Asian Studies not only as a field of scholarly pursuit, but also in the sense of people from Asia and of Asian heritage studying and teaching at the University.

  2. Integrated Health Interprofessional Education (IHIPE) Learning Community Monthly Meeting

    October 23, 2017 - 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM ET

    The IHIPE Learning Community includes faculty, students, staff and community partners. We seek to actively foster discussion, learning, research and service regarding education and care delivery models which promote the integration of physical and mental health and the growing IPE movement.

  3. Alumni Lunch Session with John Boshoven School Social Worker, Community High School, Ann Arbor

    October 23, 2017 - 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM ET

    Social workers can do anything, and everything. From Burn Center support, to crisis mental health worker to high school and college counselor, John's work experience  looks like he can't stay in one place any length of time. Rather, he has enjoyed a variety of challenging opportunities over his career which began as an undergrad student at UM.

    Come out to meet John and learn about the variety of different job opportunities that are experienced by our alumni.

  4. Mental Health at U-M: Stories from Students

    Active Minds at the University of Michigan is a chapter out of Active Minds Inc. and, as a student led organization, our goal is to combat the stigma surrounding mental illness and connect students to resources on campus.

  5. James T. Neubacher Award Ceremony

    October 24, 2017 - 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM ET

    Continental Breakfast at 9:30, followed by the James T. Neubacher Award Ceremony.  A plaque will be awarded by Regent to the recipient of the Neubacher Award and Certificates of Appreciation to other members of the University of Michigan Community (faculty/staff/students/alums) who were selected from among the nominees by the Neubacher Award Committee.

  8. Teaching Support: Drop-In Instructor Session

    October 25, 2017 - 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM ET

    This fall, the SSW is hosting a regular series of support activities around teaching. These have been designed as a result of requests from faculty. 

    Drop-in instructor sessions. These sessions may have loose topics but will be largely open for instructors to ask questions and give/gain support from peers around teaching. These sessions will be held monthly. A bluejeans call in option will be available.

  9. Licensure for Social Work Professionals

  10. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Children and Adolescents with Anxiety Problems

    October 25, 2017 - 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM ET

    The focus of this skill-based mini course is on the concepts, theory, principles and procedures appropriate to
    the assessment and effective cognitive-behavioral therapy of children and adolescents with anxiety problems.
    The course content reflects advanced material of current relevance for effective clinical practice. Specifially,
    this course will provide updated training in the cognitive-behavioral treatment of anxiety discorders in children
    and youth.
