Fall 2021 Estimated On Campus Part-Time MSW Program Cost

Financial Aid for Students Entering the On Campus Part-Time Program in Fall Term (August) 2021

Students with demonstrated need will be eligible for grant and scholarship aid (amount to be determined based on application) for the first four terms of enrollment (45-credit program) or first five terms of enrollment (60-credit program).

When factoring in the tuition award, total tuition cost for the part-time program (online and on-campus) is equivalent to three semesters (45-credit program) or four semesters (60-credit program) of full-time tuition.

2 At the University of Michigan, part-time students pay per credit, which can make tuition substantially higher than it would be if you attend full-time. Because of this, the School of Social Work offers an award (called a "tuition award") in your final 3 semesters (45 credit program) or 4 semesters (60 credit program). So, while you pay more in tuition, this award makes your total tuition equal to what it would be if you attended full time. Students eligible for a tuition reimbursement cannot also receive the tuition award in the same term. Students must inform the School if they are eligible for tuition assistance or reimbursement by a governmental or private entity. Note that this would reduce the tuition award for the term(s) in which tuition assistance/reimbursement was received.
3 Can be covered using federal loans.
4 Refunded to student.

Please see Additional Cost of Attendance Student Budget Items for additional information.
