Barbara S. Hiltz

Director of MSW Programs and Clinical Associate Professor of Social Work

Barb Hiltz is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Michigan School of Social Work. Hiltz is a licensed social worker (LMSW) and also holds a EdM in Education Policy, Organization and Leadership with a focus on diversity and equity in education. Hiltz’s work focuses on the sustainability of community-based organizations, including the role of innovation, social enterprise and social entrepreneurship in shaping social service delivery. Other areas of expertise include leadership, human resource management, fund and program development, and fiscal management.

For more than two decades, Hiltz has worked in interpersonal, community and administrative practice. Prior to joining the University of Michigan faculty, Hiltz served as executive director of a program for men who abuse their domestic partners in St. Louis, MO, and a cancer support organization in Ann Arbor, MI. In 2011, Hiltz co-founded The Brides Project, a social enterprise designed to raise money for cancer support services.

Yatesha D. Robinson

Assistant Director of Field Education, Online Program and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor

Yatesha Robinson joined the Office of Field Education as a field faculty and lecturer in 2018. She has been working with non-profit organizations since 1997, with 21 years of direct service experience with women, children, youth and families. She has served the community in various capacities, including mental health and economic empowerment at Girls Group, and pregnancy counseling at Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw where she supported women in the community and at the Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility.

Prior to moving to Ann Arbor in 2010, Yatesha served as the Director of Family Support Services for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kalamazoo where she provided services to fathers, families and teen parents. Her primary focus has been on interdisciplinary prevention and early intervention for children, youth and families. She began teaching undergraduate and graduate courses at Western Michigan University in 2004 and graduate courses at the University of Michigan’s School of Social Work in 2015.
