Admission Requirements

  • Attained an undergraduate degree with a major in social work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE),the Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE) or from a program that was in candidacy status for this accreditation at the time the degree was awarded.
  • Maintained a GPA of 3.5 or above in the equivalent of the final two years of undergraduate study.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
  • Undocumented and DACAmented students must reside within the U.S.
  • Completed undergraduate degree within ten years of the expected completion of the MSW degree.

When to Apply

To begin the Online MSW Program in January of 2022

Early Application Deadline March 1, 2021
Priority Application Deadline August 1, 2021
Application Deadline December 1, 2021

Please note admission is offered on a rolling basis and therefore early application is strongly encouraged.

Online MSW program courses in the Interpersonal Practice in Integrated Health, Mental Health & Substance Abuse pathway begin on January 3, 2022 with asynchronous content. Synchronous class sessions will begin on January 11, 2022. Orientation Weekend and SW590: Introduction to Social Work Practice will be held January 7-9, 2022.

Financial Aid

For information please refer to the MSW Guide to Financial Aid. Students may apply for grants, scholarships, and other forms of financial aid for the semesters they are enrolled in master's level online courses through the School of Social Work. Students should submit the SSW Financial Aid Application at the time of application to the MSW Program.
