Admission Requirements

  • Attained an undergraduate degree with a major in social work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE),the Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE) or from a program that was in candidacy status for this accreditation at the time the degree was awarded.
  • Maintained a GPA of 3.5 or above in the equivalent of the final two years of undergraduate study.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
  • Completed undergraduate degree within ten years of the expected completion of the MSW degree.

Program Requirements

  • Admission to the MSW program.
  • Students will complete a 45 credit hour program including 12 credits of field instruction (684 clock hours). Field instruction must be completed in the U.S.
  • You will complete coursework in the Interpersonal Practice in Integrated Health, Mental Health, & Substance Abuse which prepares you to become a licensed clinical social worker.
  • Transfer and dual degree students are not eligible to participate in the online MSW program.

Financial Aid

For information please refer to the MSW Guide to Financial Aid. Students may apply for grants, scholarships, and other forms of financial aid for the semesters they are enrolled in master's level online courses through the School of Social Work. Students should submit the SSW Financial Aid Application at the time of application to the MSW Program.
