I am thrilled and honored to serve as dean of the School of Social Work. For over a century, the School has been a leader in social work education and we continue this tradition of excellence by taking a proactive approach to creating the future we want to see.
Our profession has always risen to the challenges faced by the broader society, and as the nation’s top-ranked school of social work, we are uniquely positioned — and guided by social work values — to lead the way in responding to today’s challenges. We prepare graduates for leadership, practice, policy, and social impact with our array of degree programs and many specialized pathways that produce class after class of brilliant and passionate changemakers. We are a hub for innovative, solutions-oriented research. And we are cultivating and nurturing partnerships — across communities and through cross-disciplinary collaborations — to bring about needed change and create a better society that works for everyone.
As we move forward, these are the types of high-level challenges we will face together as a community. I am excited to work to build our new future together and hope you will join us on this journey.
