Mercedes Monaee Brown

Mercedes Brown (she/her/hers), MSW '08 and JD '13, is an experienced leader with deep expertise in public policy and equitable systems transformation. Throughout her career as a social worker and attorney, Brown has led with her passion for advancing social justice. It is with that commitment that she has held leadership positions in the government and non-profit sectors of health and human services. As the Michigan Director at the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH), Brown is responsible for establishing CSH’s strategic priorities for the State of Michigan and providing leadership for the Michigan-based team. In her current role as the Michigan director, Brown develops and implements statewide, multi-sector strategies to maximize impact in high-need communities. During her tenure with CSH, Brown has worked to ensure that projects across her statewide portfolio are grounded in race-explicit strategies and supported by authentic relationships that align to advance racial equity.
