    Educational Agreement due for review by 5:00 PM. This deadline is only applicable to continuing field students, who started their field placement prior to Fall 2020. 

    Please Note: Students starting field in Fall 2020 under Pathways will be using our new Educational Agreement, which will have a different deadline schedule that will be communicated via Canvas.

  3. Fedele F. and Iris M. Fauri Memorial Conference: Part 1: Enduring Challenges and Emerging Concerns in Child Welfare Policy and Practice Associated with the COVID-19 Pandemic

    This session will focus on how current circumstances of the COVID pandemic are serving to expose and heighten enduring concerns about gaps in child welfare services. Panelists will speak about the ways child welfare systems have been impacted by the pandemic—and how they have responded during a time of unprecedented fear and need. Additionally, panelists will share their perspectives on the immediate and long-term implications for child welfare services.

  5. Get Out the Vote SSW: ENGAGE Get Out the Vote SSW: ENGAGE

    October 15, 2020 - 12:00 PM ET

    With our power, resources, and knowledge - what can we do to make sure everyone’s voice is heard when practicing the right to vote? How can we become more empowered and informed about voting, and actively join the fight against voter suppression?  This session will focus on both School of Social Work and university-wide voter engagement initiatives such as Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts, and include student discussion on how we can become more engaged in the upcoming election. Clinical Assistant Professor and candidate for Washtenaw County Commissioner Justin Hodge will share his work on promoting voting.  Ginsberg Center Lead of Democratic Engagement Erin Byrnes will discuss her work with the U-M Big Ten Voting Challenge and how students can get more involved in the upcoming election. Sumaiya Ahmed Sheikh, the Michigan State Coordinator of the Campus Vote Project will also be joining us. This session counts for field credit.   6. Atlanta University Center Consortium Virtual Professional School Fair

    An admissions counselor will join this virtual fair to connect with students from Spelman, Morehouse, and Clark Atlanta University to share information about U-M's Online MSW Program, Residential MSW Program, Curriculum Options, Application Process, Financial Aid, and more.

  8. Wonder Woman: Practice and Ethical Considerations

    October 16, 2020 - 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET

    Please note this course was originally offered as an in-person workshop but has been changed to a webinar due to COVID-19.

    African American women have been identified as experiencing stress as individuals with intersections of non-dominant groups. The workshop will focus on identifying the triple oppression that is experienced and mythical labels created, resilience strategies and ethical considerations. Using the lens of Afrocentrism, we will explore the idea of the "wonder woman," the potential and future of Black women in the United States.

    In this coffee hour, a Student Meetup will be hosted. Come and stop by to meet your peers at the school. This event opens to everyone!
