The Nonprofit and Public Management Center is convening students, faculty, and the public to discuss the changing landscape for funding social initiatives and organizations. Leaders from across sectors will present profiles on funding models for social good and debate the implications of emerging methods, with a focus on the state of Michigan. Matt Flannery, CEO and co-founder of Kiva, will give the keynote address.
This event is free and open to the public. Free lunch is provided for those registered.

Panel Discussion: Human Trafficking

Students for Community-Based Social Work Organization will be hosting a panel discussion about human trafficking. The organization attended a human trafficking conference in Toledo, Ohio, and they will be following up by discussing topics such as spreading awareness in the school's through age appropriate curriculum, a possible economical model for the legalization of prostitution, and various other topics as well.
The guest speaker Malinda Werth, who is a licensed counselor and worked abroad in Germany and locally with organizations who help victims of human trafficking, will be discussing her experiences and work. Additionally, there may be another guest speaker, Lindsey Miller, who will discuss work she has done with human trafficking victims in India.
