Personal Statement Feedback Session

This event will give Juniors and Seniors applying to the program a chance to meet with current MSWs who have been trained by the School of Social Work to answer questions about the supplementary statement. MSW students will be there for you to bounce ideas off of, get some comments on language, and talk about which tracks you are interested in. This will not serve as a place for you to get help with grammar or spelling. The University of Michigan Career Center is great for that! This event will be a chance for you to meet with students who understand the language of the profession and can help streamline your thoughts around how to approach the essay.

You will have 20 minutes with an MSW student to use how you'd like. Last year, the majority of students came in with ideas or outlines- that is great! Don't feel that you need to have a complete draft prepared. We do ask that you have looked at the essay questions prior to your appointment so the 20 minutes can be used most effectively toward honing in on your actual questions and ideas.
