Peace Corps Paul D. Coverdell Fellows Program

The University of Michigan School of Social Work (U-M SSW) in conjunction with the Peace Corps is pleased to offer a Coverdell Fellows Program. The Coverdell Fellows Program provides Returned Peace Corps Volunteers the opportunity to earn a Master in Social Work at the University of Michigan.

Qualified incoming Returned Peace Corps Volunteers* pursuing the On Campus MSW Program or Part-Time Online MSW Program are welcome to apply to the Coverdell Fellows Scholarship.

The Coverdell Fellows Scholarship is a need-based award for incoming On Campus MSW students and Online MSW students. Funding is limited. The Coverdell Fellows Scholarship will provide selected students with the following:

Coverdell Scholarship

Residents: $20,000 (60-cr program) / $15,000 (45-cr program; dual degree students) Coverdell Mission total award.

Non-Residents: $40,000 (60-cr program) / $30,000 (45-cr program; dual degree students) Coverdell Mission total award.

Note: Any Coverdell Mission Scholarship awarded will be spread over multiple terms, depending on expected enrollment terms. The SSW Scholarship Aid Award Notice will detail the award amount per term for those selected.
