  1. Faculty and Administrative Support Team

    Responsible for the preparation of course work, reimbursements, and purchasing needs of the SSW faculty.

    Develops and provides students with field-based educational opportunities that lead to competent social work practice under the supervision of credentialed/approved field instructors whose field sites have approved affiliations with the School of Social Work.

  3. Global Activities »

    Promotes social work in a global context at the U-M SSW, with the following agenda: to promote the U-M SSW's leadership role in global social work education and research, to increase students' competencies in global social work practice, and to foster an environment conducive to global social work education and research.

  4. Human Resources

    The SSW Human Resources offices manages all faculty, staff, temporary and student temporary appointments, payroll and sick/vacation time accrual/usage.  SSW HR acts as the liaison between the SSW and UM Staff Human Resources and UM Academic Human Resources.  Additionally, the Director of Administration provides counselling and assistance to all staff for grievances and concerns and is the COI/COC officer for staff.  For confidential concerns, stop by the Director’s office (2841 SSWB), call 936-4841 or email

    Learning communities are innovative collaborations among faculty, students and community members that address issues critical to social work through integrated research, instruction, and service opportunities.

  8. Library »

    The Social Work Librarian is a liaison to SSW, helping researchers and instructors find and use the best resources for their work, answer reference questions through personal research consultations and answering email requests from faculty and students.

  9. MiWorkspace Neighborhood IT

    Maintains the School of Social Work computing environment and provides computing assistance to School of Social Work faculty and staff.

  10. Program Evaluation Group »

    The mission of the Program Evaluation Group is to train MSW students and recent social work graduates in program evaluation by providing comprehensive evaluation services to a broad range of community-based agencies. The Program Evaluation Group collects and analyzes information so agencies can make informed decisions, improve program effectiveness and efficiencies.
