  1. Facilities

    Responsible for the overall upkeep of the building inside and out, including renovations both major and minor.

    If you detect a physical or safety problem with the building, send an email using the address below.

  2. Faculty and Administrative Support Team

    The FAST (Faculty and Administrative Support Team) Office supports faculty with administrative services. Please feel free to reach out to FAST with any questions - if we can't answer them for you, we can direct you to staff who can help.

  3. Field Education

    Develops and provides students with field-based educational opportunities that lead to competent social work practice under the supervision of credentialed/approved field instructors whose field sites have approved affiliations with the School of Social Work.

  4. Global Activities

    Promotes social work in a global context at the U-M SSW, with the following agenda: to promote the U-M SSW's leadership role in global social work education and research, to increase students' competencies in global social work practice, and to foster an environment conducive to global social work education and research.

  5. Human Resources

    The SSW Human Resources offices manages all faculty, staff, temporary and student temporary appointments, payroll and sick/vacation time accrual/usage.  SSW HR acts as the liaison between the SSW and UM Staff Human Resources and UM Academic Human Resources.  Additionally, the Director of Administration provides counselling and assistance to all staff for grievances and concerns and is the COI/COC officer for staff.  For confidential concerns, stop by the Director’s office (2841 SSWB), call (734) 936-4841 or email

  6. Information Technology

    The SSW Office of Information Technology (SSW IT) provides information technology and instructional support services to SSW faculty, staff, and students that help advance the mission of the School.

  7. Jewish Communal Leadership Program

    Offers a distinctive educational opportunity for emerging leaders committed to helping Jewish communities meet 21st-century challenges while also addressing broader social concerns.

  8. Joint PhD Program

    Dedicated to providing support and quality services to faculty and current and prospective students.

  9. Library

    The Social Work Librarian is a liaison to SSW, helping researchers and instructors find and use the best resources for their work, answer reference questions through personal research consultations and answering email requests from faculty and students.

  10. Marketing / Communications

    Services include branding and marketing, digital storytelling, Ongoing magazine and other SSW publications, broadcast email, media and public relations, strategic communication and web development.
