Healing and Connecting through Community Conversations: Leveraging Latinx Youth’s Voices for Change

Resources will be used to fulfill my commitment to a community engaged model of research. Funds will contribute towards a pilot intervention program that I have been developing in collaboration with student and community agencies in the Southeast Michigan area. The support of the SUCCEED grant funds towards this project would increase my success and career satisfaction as a Latinx immigrant woman and researcher by: 1) supporting my ability to give back to the Latinx immigrant community of Southeast Michigan and fulfilling my commitment to community-based participatory research; 2) continuing my work with mixed status Latinx immigrants that is rooted in social justice values; 3) supporting my investment in training BIPOC students on community engaged models of research focused on maintaining non-exploitative partnerships with vulnerable communities
