Job Description: Responsible for providing individual, group, and family therapy for both mental health and substance abuse treatment as well as involving the parent or legal guardian as appropriate when counseling minor patients, the therapist participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning by developing an annual comprehensive psychosocial assessment and crisis intervention consultation. This position has the opportunity to function remotely up to 2 days per week.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTION AND DUTIES
Overall, specific functions and duties include but are not limited to:
1. Provides individual, group and family therapy.
2. Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning.
3. Develops an annual comprehensive psychosocial assessment.
4. Provides crisis intervention consultation to physicians and nurses.
5. Participates in the peer-review process for the therapist.
6. Provides pre-screening for depression, anxiety and other psychological disorders.
7. Conducts individual and family counseling sessions with clients.
8. Diagnose for psychological disorders.
9. Conducts psycho-social assessment.
10. Makes referrals to other agencies and psychiatrist as appropriate.
11. Manages patient appointments and if appropriate, schedule patients with psychiatrist and preps patient chart for visit.
12. Prepares documentation for patient files.
13. Completes electronic charting in EMR.
14. Attends integrated meetings.
15. Collaborates with other internal providers to establish integrated care.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
