Rosalva Osorio joined the Office of Field Education as a field faculty and lecturer on December 9, 2019. They received a BA in sociology in 2004 and a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Community Organization and a minor in Interpersonal Practice in 2006, from the University of Michigan. They have worked in non-profit organizations in the Detroit area for the past 13 years. Macro settings have included being a special projects coordinator in children’s initiatives with Detroit-Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN), Clinical Director at The Children’s Center, program supervisor at Southwest Counseling Solutions, and board involvement with the Michigan Association of Infant Mental Health (MI-AIMH). Micro social work settings include being a juvenile justice and infant mental health specialist. They have been a field instructor for MSW macro and micro candidates for 11 years, taught an MSW macro lab in 2017 and recently been a member of the UMSSW Community Advisory Board. Social work practice areas are in trauma-informed care, infant mental health, leadership and management.
