Theory and Practice of Infant Mental Health
July 24, 2020 - 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET
This introductory course will examine the principles of Infant Mental Health intervention with families of infants and young children. Using attachment theory as a foundation, we will examine best practices in supporting early developing relationships between infants and young children and their caregivers. Special attention will be given to understanding the processes through which practitioners can promote infant well-being and expand parenting capacity to nurture and protect their children.

School of Social Work Commencement

This ceremony will be pre-recorded and will launch on the School of Social Work Summer commencement site at 2pm, on July 24, 2020. The ceremony will be hosted by Dean Lynn Videka and will include a keynote address from Professor Justin Hodge, student speaker(s), and the announcement of each spring and summer graduate. Invite your family and friends to view the ceremony at 2pm or another time that is convenient for you to celebrate.

The American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare will offer this free webinar series on Systemic Racism and Mental Health. The presenters -- Sean Joe and David Takeuchi -- are significant experts in this field.
The U.S. Surgeon General’s Report on mental health problems among underrepresented minorities, published in 2002, suggested a significant contribution from systemic racism. Since that time, scholars have uncovered links between the two phenomena. This webinar uses an interview format to explore recent evidence of the link between systemic racism and mental health.
