Visiting Scholar Presentation: History of Social Work Practice in Japan

Visiting scholar Dr. Yumi from Prefectural University of Hiroshima, Japan will present the cultural context of social work practice and emerging new social work models in Japan. She will focus on presenting and discussing an effective social work practice model based primarily on social constructionism.

SSW Career Services Alumni Lunch Series with Dr. Erica Solway
March 14, 2018 - 12:00pm to 2:00pm
Come to have lunch, learn about an alum's exciting career and network. Dr. Solway serves as an Associate Director of the University of Michigan National Poll on Healthy Aging. She is also a Senior Project Manager with the University of Michigan Institute for Healthcare Policy & Innovation where she oversees evaluation projects related to Michigan’s Medicaid expansion program. Dr. Solway has worked in a variety of roles in policy and research in the area of health and aging. Before returning to U-M, Dr. Solway served as a policy advisor with the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Subcommittee on Primary Health and Aging. She received her master’s degree in social work and master’s degree in public health from the University of Michigan and doctoral degree in medical sociology from the University of California, San Francisco.

Teaching Support: Drop-In Instructor Session

This fall, the SSW is hosting a regular series of support activities around teaching. These have been designed as a result of requests from faculty.
Drop-in instructor sessions. These sessions may have loose topics but will be largely open for instructors to ask questions and give/gain support from peers around teaching. These sessions will be held monthly. A bluejeans call in option will be available.
These sessions are available to all course instructors. A schedule of dates and events is below.

Baccalaureate Social Work Program Directors Annual Conference
