This training will focus on exploring the impact of abuse and neglect on children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth. Current research about how abuse and neglect affects the development of children, adolescents, and transitional age youth over the life span will be discussed. A focus on relationship building and engagement skills needed to work effectively with this population to enhance positive outcomes will be presented and demonstrated using role plays and small group discussion.
