    Join the Community Action and Social Change (CASC) Minor to learn about the importance of social justice in Public Health. CASC/SPH students will be at the front desk in SPH1, come hang out with them and grab a free slice of pizza!

    Join the Community Action and Social Change (CASC) Minor to learn about the importance of social justice in Public Policy.  This event provides you with an opportunity to network with current and prospective CASC students in the Ford School of Public Policy and is hosted by CASC-Ford student, Caroline Kelly.

    Interested in learning more about the Community Action and Social Change minor? Come to this info session to learn more about the CASC community, what CASC is and what it can offer you in your undergraduate program, the types of courses you'll take, and the available opportunities for CASC students after graduation!

  4. Las Cafeteras Artist Talk: Bridging Art, Activism and Community Las Cafeteras Artist Talk: Bridging Art, Activism and Community

    February 18, 2019 - 6:00pm to 8:30pm

    The artists from Las Cafeteras, a six-piece band known for remixing roots music and telling modern-day stories discuss how they have incorporated activism and community engagement into their musical practice in their Los Angeles community and on the road.

    This event is free and open to the public.

    The event is presented by the University Musical Society and Co-sponsored by the Center for World Performance Studies, EXCEL, La Casa, LSA Latino/a Studies, MESA, and the School of Social Work.

  5. CASC Study Tables CASC Study Tables

    February 19, 2019 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm

    Join the Community Action and Social Change Minor in our first study tables of the semester! Come by the CASC office in Room 3640 of the School of Social Work to enjoy food, build community with prospective and current CASC students, and use our office space for homework!

  6. CASC OUT

    February 20, 2019 - 11:00am to 3:00pm

    You are invited to our third annual CASC OUT. This is a day where CASC Students can share stories of how they CASC on campus and in our larger communites and where Prospective CASC Students can learn more about the minor and the type of work they will do as part of the program. CASC OUT will be in celebration with World Day of Social Justice on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. 

    What is World Day of Social Justice? The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 20 February as World Day of Social Justice in 2007. Observance of World Day of Social Justice should support efforts of the international community in poverty eradication, the promotion of full employment and decent work, gender equity and access to social well-being and justice for all.

    Join us at the Haven/Mason Hall Posting wall from 11AM-3PM and around campus to build community with people who committed to social justice, learn more about the minor, and talk with current CASC students.  Everyone is aslo encouraged to wear their CASC CHANGE T-Shirt and spread the word about CASC during this day, so if you need a shirt or other materials, stop by the CASC office (3833 SSW) for supplies!

    We look forward to you celebrating with us and sharing news about the important work happening in our communities and beyond.
