Avery Drongowski

Jewish Communal Leadership Program Class of 2017

Avery Drongowski is the program and engagement associate with The Well, an inclusive Jewish community-building, education and spirituality outreach initiative geared to the needs of young adults and those who haven't connected with traditional institutions in Metro Detroit. A metro-Detroit native with stops along the way in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Illinois, Avery's interest in social work was sparked during her year in Chicago with AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corps, where she worked at The ARK, a Jewish social service agency. During JCLP, she studied Interpersonal Practice, and completed her field work at Jewish Family Service of Metro Detroit, where she saw clients individually and in group settings for therapy. The Jewish Communal Leadership Program has been critical for Avery in exploring the Jewish communal response to social issues from the perspective of various agencies, and allowed her to consider her future role in that response.
