Kari Sherwood

PhD Student. Social Work/Psychology - Developmental Candidate

Kari L. Sherwood, MS, MEd, MSW, LLMSW, is a Joint PhD student in Social Work and Developmental Psychology. She has a background in special education, autism and instructional design. Sherwood is passionate about improving employment opportunities, access and inclusion in the workplace for autistic and neurodivergent individuals. Sherwood joined the Level Up Employment Skills Simulation Lab in 2018, assisting with the adaptation and evaluation of Virtual Interview Training for Transition-Age Youth (VIT-TAY), an intervention to help autistic individuals practice job interview skills. Most recently, she assisted with the development of a new intervention, Social Skills at Work, aimed at helping autistic individuals sustain employment through practicing social skills in a virtual workplace.

Research Interests/Focus

Disability justice, employment opportunities, access, and inclusion in the workplace for autistic and neurodivergent individuals
