Essie Shachar-Hill

Jewish Communal Leadership Program Class of 2018

Essie Shachar-Hill is the Midwest Education and Training Manager for Keshet in Chicago and a curricula writer for Moving Traditions. Born in Cambridge, England, they graduated with a B.A. in English and Judaic Studies from the University of Michigan in May 2015. As a member of AVODAH: the Jewish Service Corps in Chicago, Essie worked with "Girls in the Game" as an after school coordinator. As an undergraduate, Essie was involved with U-M Residential Life and also received the Frankel Center for Judaic Studies Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award. Through JCLP, Essie continued to examine how social justice and Judaism interact and inform each other in the field of social work.
