The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruitment, supervision, training, and retention of the Survivor Advocacy Crisis Intervention Volunteers (SACI). This is a full time hybrid work eligible position. Work hours are variable and require nights and weekends.
The Michigan State University Center for Survivors Volunteer Coordinator will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to interpersonal violence survivors. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruitment, supervision, training, and retention of Survivor Advocacy Crisis Intervention volunteers; manages 24-hour crisis hotline and the crisis chat; provides direct service to clients by providing in- person crisis intervention, safety planning, referrals, advocacy services and follow-up contact.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience providing advocacy, crisis intervention, and supportive services to survivors of relationship violence, stalking and/ or sexual assault, and experience facilitating training and presentations for large groups; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
