Description

OVERVIEW

The Washtenaw Housing Alliance (WHA) works with many community partners, including non-profit and government partners, to coordinate and improve the effectiveness of the Washtenaw County Continuum of Care homeless response system for Veterans experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. Since 2015, WHA has served as the Community Lead for Washtenaw County Continuum of Care’s implementation of the Built for Zero initiative to end Veteran homelessness.

The Veteran System Improvement Coordinator is a new, grant-funded position which will serve as a high-level project manager and data analyst for the work to prevent and end Veteran homelessness in Washtenaw County, MI, working with many community partners within and outside of the traditional homeless response system. The Veteran System Improvement Coordinator leverages and promotes continuous quality improvement best practices to actively reshape community processes and behavioral norms. The Coordinator co-develops a shared vision for success across the community, provides the project management support to actualize that vision, and embeds collective impact principles into community processes to ensure system-level gains are sustained. The Veteran System Improvement Coordinator establishes and maintains critical communication and knowledge-sharing lanes between end users, providers, the community as a whole and the broader systems that touch the homeless response system.
