The SSW Student Union Presents, Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) workshop: "The Role of White People in Ending Racism"
Do you want to join the fight against racism, but don't know how or where to start? Come learn effective tools to engage in the struggle to end racism!
Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ), an organization focused on combating white supremacy and building a racially just society. The evening will include a discussion of key terms pulled from Critical Race Theory with real-world stories and small group discussions. We will also learn about "The Ladder" or steps to take to dismantle racism. Finally, a moderated interactive panel discussion with four advocacy leaders will present their stories working within social activism to end racism and answer questions.
Attendees will be informed and empowered to stand up for racial justice. Students, staff, and faculty are all invited to attend.
