Ilana Soumekhian, LCSW-C, lives in Metro Detroit and works at a start-up as a Community Engagement Manager at Therify, an inclusive mental health benefit for companies. In her day-to-day work, Ilana is responsible for creating employee programming, training, and self-guided content to support their emotional well-being and foster inclusion in the workplace.
She previously worked as an Oncology Social Worker at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore and as a Medical Social Worker at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. She completed her MSW fieldwork at the Ann Arbor JCC, the Michigan Medicine's C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, and Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital in the Inpatient/Outpatient Obstetrics and Gynecology Unit. She graduated with her MSW and JCLP Certificate in May 2018.
