Sign up for one of the Community Service Day sites by 8:00 a.m. on August 13, 2014. Sites will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
We will depart from the School of Social Work. Transportation to the site will be provided.
- Gleaners Community Food Bank, with broad community support, fights hunger in southeastern Michigan. In collaboration with our member agencies, the Feeding America network, and our program partners, we provide millions of pounds of donated and purchased food to people in need. In so doing, Gleaners is committed to distributing nutritional, high quality food. Through education and advocacy, we will reduce reliance on the emergency food system.
- Project Description: The projects in all our facilities vary. Projects may consist of sorting and/or packing food, assembling agency food orders, sweeping and more.
- Special Instructions: Please dress comfortably in clothes that might get dirty. In order to work in the warehouse, you are required to wear closed-toe shoes. Since the jobs require some bending, please wear tops and bottoms that provide adequate coverage.
