Sign up for one of the Community Service Day sites by 8:00 a.m. on August 13, 2014. Sites will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
We will depart from the School of Social Work. Transportation to the site will be provided.
- Urban Neighborhoods Initiative (UNI) is dedicated to the intertwined process of human and community development in urban neighborhoods. UNI is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation that works with communities to build safe and thriving environment where people want to live, work, and play. UNI's home base is the All Saints Neighborhood Center, a well-known neighborhood center with a broad schedule of adult and youth programs in the heart of the Springwells community of southwest Detroit.
- Project Description: Volunteers will be asked to do a variety of projects depending on the location they are at. Some examples include graffiti removal, cleaning up trash, removing debris, working in the gardens, and cleaning up the parks.
- Special Instructions: Please wear closed toe shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Dress for the weather and bring sunscreen. Please bring necessary allergy medication(s) (for bees, plants, etc). Please do not bring many personal items.
