    SSW students Particpate in Interprofessional Training for Future Health Care Professionals

    School of Social Work students were part of an interprofessional team training future health care professionals. This course, "Team-based Clinical Decision Making" is being offered for the first time this term to students from the School of Social Work, College of Pharmacy, School of Dentistry, Medical School and School of Nursing. Lecturer Debbie Mattison (part of the course's instructional team) was cited in The University Record article, “Students Seek Health Care Solutions through Interprofessional Teams”.

    Yolanda Chávez Padilla (PhD'93) Accepts Position as Director of the Council on Social Work Education's Center for Diversity & Social and Economic Justice

    Yolanda Chávez Padilla (PhD’93) has accepted the position as director of the Council on Social Work Education Center for Diversity and Social and Economic Justice. Dr. Padilla will have a joint appointment with the CSWE and with the School of Social Work at University of Texas at Austin.

    Associate Professor Brad Zebrack, Clinical Assistant Professor Sue Ann Savas and Research Associate Laura Sundstrom’s study on psychosocial distress screening in cancer patients was featured on the American Society of Clinical Oncology website. The study is titled “Psychosocial Distress Screening Implementation in Cancer Care: An Analysis of Adherence, Responsiveness, and Acceptability”.

    Linda Chatters Selected as Recipient of 2015 Harold R. Johnson Diversity Service Award

    Linda Chatters was selected as a recipient of the 2015 Harold R. Johnson Diversity Service Award. This award was established in 1996 in honor of the former Dean of the School of Social Work, Harold R. Johnson. It recognizes U-M faculty members on the Ann Arbor campus who have exhibited outstanding leadership in the area of cultural diversity.
