    Associate Professor Mary Ruffolo received an award from the Michigan Department of Community Health via the Starfish Family Services. Her project is an evaluation of the implementation of the multiple family psycho-education groups for youth living with bipolar disorders and their families.

    Dean Laura Lein, Assistant Professor Luke Shaefer and Assistant Professor Sue Ann Savas, receive award from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation via the University of Detroit Mercy

    Dean Laura Lein, along with colleagues Assistant Professor Luke Shaefer and Assistant Professor Sue Ann Savas, received an award from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation via the University of Detroit Mercy. The project aims to develop a cultural competence course that will tap faculty experts in SSW and the School of Dentistry to develop access-to-care and a provider acceptability evaluation plan by reviewing the types of data dental clinics currently collect, data that will be required for reporting under the Affordable Care Act, and new measures being developed by the Dental Quality Alliance.

    Professor Berit Ingersoll-Dayton received an award from the U-M Thai Studies Center. The project will examine the ways in which Thai grandparents contribute to their families as well as the complex costs and benefits of these efforts.

    Professor Lorraine Gutiérrez received an award from the U- M Center for Research on Learning & Teaching. Her project proposes to bring together a small group of faculty in the School of Social Work and the School of Arts and Design to create an innovative course that engages students in active learning on the topic of the arts for community change.
