In a sex therapy/research career that has spanned almost 4 decades, Dr. Hall has worked in sex therapy clinics, treatment programs for incarcerated sex offenders, and was the Clinical Director of a treatment center for sexually abused children and their families. She currently has an active private practice where she specializes in the treatment of a broad range of sexual issues and problems. Dr. Hall has lectured nationally and internationally on a variety of clinical topics. Her current clinical and research interests are focused on cultural differences in the experience and treatment of sexual problems.
Kathryn Hall, Ph.D is Past President of the Society for Sex Therapy and Research (SSTAR). With Irv Binik, she is the co-editor of Principles and Practice of Sex Therapy, now out in its 6th edition. Dr. Hall has authored or co-authored numerous scholarly articles and has co-edited with Cynthia Graham the academic book The Cultural Context of Sexual Pleasure and Problems: Psychotherapy with Diverse Clients. In addition, she has authored a popular book on female sexual desire Reclaiming Your Sexual Self: How You Can Bring Desire Back Into Your Life which won the SSTAR Consumer Book Award in 2006, for the best popular book on sexuality.
