Restorative Practices in Social Work

Restorative practices focus on fostering interpersonal and community trust, respect, and relationships. This workshop will explore restorative practices as they relate to social work practice. We will apply restorative conceptual frameworks and principles, while teaching applied restorative practice skills. Participants will learn to apply restorative practices to a number of social work settings and across client populations, and will be able to identify how restorative practices can impact those involved.

We hope that you can join us and enjoy this fun game night. We’ll provide Switch controllers, online games, mobile games, video games, board games, and delicious pizza! Bring your favorite games and relax while playing with others! If you are a new game player, no worries, we got you! Guidance provided. You're also welcome to bring your kids!

Eclipsed: Play and Playwright Talk Back
April 25, 2025 - 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM ET
Attend a performance of the world premiere of the play: Eclipsed: The Sun, the Moon, and Gladys Atkinson Sweet. We will be joined by the Detroit playwright, D.L Patrick, after the performance for a talk-back and discussion. The Sweet trials which are the background of this play, established an important civil rights victory, that Black people were entitled to the right of self-defense.
