We invite you to a Community Conversation around Beauty Standards via Zoom.
Beauty standards are woven into our existence whether we conform to them, challenge them, or feel caught somewhere in between. These standards shape our self-perception, influence how we move through the world, and intersect with identity in complex ways. How do age, race, gender identity, and other aspects of who we are impact our relationship to beauty? What pressures exist, and what unspoken expectations shape the way we see ourselves and each other?
This is a time for conversation – to share feelings, raise concerns, and talk together as a school community.
About the format: With these smaller Community Conversations, our goal is to create a restorative space where we can share experiences and learn from one another. The discussion will be guided by practices from intergroup dialogue and restorative justice.
