The Critical Intersectionality Interdiciplinary Workshop provides space for Rackham PhD students to discuss, share readings, and present research regarding complex theoretical and methodological issues related to intersectionality. Graduate students at any stage of their research are welcome. Lunch will be provided.

Career Services Alumni Networking Lunch with Sue Southon, MSW 70, ICF International

Come by to learn from and network with Ms. Southon who is a development professional, trainer and strategic planner with an expertise in disaster recovery. Drawing upon her extensive experience, Ms. Southon will share the skills needed for social workers to be leaders in the field of community, economic and housing development. She also will discuss growing trends in this sector and the best avenues for employment. Lunch will be provided.
Ms. Southon has served as a strategic advisor to local governments, community development organizations and private developers. She has provided technical assistance to disaster recovery response initiatives in New Orleans, New York and New Jersey. In addition, she has authored federal, state and foundation grants resulting in awards in excess of $55 million.
Ms. Southon is currently assisting New Jersey State staff on policies related to program administration of their $4.2 billion in HUD-sponsored Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery funds for housing, small business, infrastructure, planning and buy-out programs.
