Refugee issues in the European Union continue to be a major concern, and the most recent elections this weekend in Germany provide a grim warning and context for current and future refugee issues, politics and actions not only in Germany, but throughout the EU and worldwide.
Dr. Elke Josties, Professor of Social Work at Alice Solomon University in Berlin, Germany will present the following seminar:
"Refugees, Art, Social Work and Social Change: The Berlin Nexus"
During this presentation, Dr. Josties will present Social Cultural Work with refugees in Berlin, with visuals and descriptions of the activities at the Alice Salomon Hochschule and Examples of Social Cultural Work with refugees. She will combine lectures, films and discussions.

LIGHT REFRESHMENTS WILL BE SERVED
Global Independent Study is a course that involves students traveling outside the U.S. to study or engage with a social work topic of their choosing. Students must work with a faculty instructor throughout the process. Students from all practice methods, areas, and curriculum tracks are eligible and will receive 1-6 elective credits.
