  8. Dan Fischer's Retirement Party Dan Fischer's Retirement Party

    December 14, 2023 - 3:30 PM ET

    Join us in celebrating Dan Fischer’s retirement on December 14, 2023, from 3:30-5 PM. This will be a hybrid celebration. You may attend in-person in the ECC, room 1840 at the School of Social Work building (1080 S. University, Ann Arbor, MI, 48109), or virtually on Zoom. 

    Light refreshments will be served and there will be a memento book for those in attendance to sign. 

    Please join us as we honor  Dan’s 34 years at the University of Michigan. Since 1989, Dan has served as a clinical social worker, field instructor, LEO Adjunct, clinical assistant professor, Graduate Social Work Education Program Coordinator, Director of Graduate Social Work Education, Associate Director for Pediatric Anxiety and Tic Disorders Program, Interprofessional Education Leadership Fellow, Assistant Dean for Field Education, and clinical associate professor. These appointments have been housed at University of Michigan School of Social Work and at Michigan Medicine. 

    Dan has been an extremely valued educator, administrator, clinician, and colleague.While we will miss Dan’s intelligence, expertise, and compassion, we are looking forward to celebrating his many contributions to the School and the university.

  10. School of Social Work Winter Commencement

    December 17, 2023 - 10:00 AM ET

    The School of Social Work Winter Commencement for Master of Social Work students will be held in-person and livestreamed on the SSW website. Hill Auditorium doors will open for guests and graduates can begin arriving at 9:00am.

    A light reception will be held at the School of Social Work (1080 S. University Ave.) immediately following commencement.
