Traveling Innovation Hour: School of Social Work and School of Education

to

Join us for Traveling Innovation Hour, a gathering co-hosted by the Office of Academic Innovation two times per month featuring a different theme and campus location each session.

Traveling Innovation Hours are informal discussions in which participants discuss a topic or open question related to teaching and learning in higher education that is particularly relevant to the host programs.

This Traveling Innovation Hour will focus on local teaching and learning concerns of U-M's School of Social Work and School of Education. Faculty, staff, and students of these schools are especially welcome to attend. Katie Richards-Schuster (SSW) and Don Peurach (SOE) will facilitate a conversation on the following question: What does high quality teaching and learning look like in a digital environment?

How might we use digital tools to address the educational needs of our practitioners and engage more deeply with the community? What does effective online learning look like for fields like social work or education, in which personal relationships and face-to-face interactions are so core to practice? What challenges do social workers and educators encounter when designing or implementing new tools or practices, and how might we confront such challenges? We look forward to hearing your thoughts!

All are welcome to attend. Please register to help us plan for refreshments. Registration is not required for attendance.
