In this year's Fedele F. and Iris M. Fauri Memorial Conference, we highlight emerging best practices and practitioner expertise related to father engagement and inclusion in social services. Our keynote address by Dr. Jay Fagan, from the Fatherhood Practice Research Network, will present new evidence regarding best practices for reaching and engaging fathers in a variety of social service settings, including child welfare. Panelists and presenters from several promising social service programs designed to engage men will discuss practitioner expertise regarding effective strategies for working with fathers and will emphasize culturally responsive strategies for engaging fathers of over-represented African American children in substitute care. These promising new programs fit well within existing service delivery models and are specifically designed to address the unique parenting needs of both residential and nonresidential fathers.
