These pages provide an estimated cost of attendance. The estimates are based on research done by the University's Office of Financial Aid and include what they deemed to be “modest but adequate” expense patterns of University of Michigan students. Of course, your exact expenses may differ from these estimates.
Financial aid funds (scholarships, grants, loans and/or work study) can be used to cover any items listed in the budget.
Please note that students cannot receive financial aid in excess of (an amount higher than) their total student budget unless they request an increase in their budget. That request is made to the University Office of Financial Aid, who makes these decisions.
To view tuition and budget information, select your starting semester. Occasionally students may deviate from the identified curriculum schedule. To view the per credit hour tuition charges for the current academic year, visit the University Office of the Registrar webpage.
