This study includes semistructured interviews and surveys to investigate girls and their parents/caregivers views about their mental health treatment experiences, as well as their feedback about the proposed intervention. We will transcribe and analyze the qualitative feedback to adapt the intervention (Phase I). Then we will conduct a nonrandomized test of the adapted mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) intervention to investigate potential relationships among post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD-primary outcome), with stress (inflammation and cortisol reactivity from hair samples), recidivism, personal agency, and parent-child relationships (secondary outcomes) will be examined (Phase II).
