    Xiaoling Xiang receives an award from the Ginsberg Center for Community and Service Learning

    Assistant Professor Xiaoling Xiang received a funding award from the Ginsberg Center for Community and Service Learning. Her project aims to foster a partnership among U-M, Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit, and the Southeast Michigan Senior Regional Collaborative to examine barriers and opportunities to implement and sustain a social work-based primary care integration intervention for vulnerable older adults in southeast Michigan.

    Associate Professor Andrew Grogan-Kaylor was cited in Germany’s Zeit Online for his meta-analysis of 50 years of research on corporal punishment.

    Edie Kieffer presents "Healthy Mothers on the Move: A Community Health Worker-Led Diabetes Prevention Intervention for Pregnant and Postpartum Latinas” at the American Diabetes Association conference

    Professor Edie Kieffer presented "Healthy Mothers on the Move: A Community Health Worker-Led Diabetes Prevention Intervention for Pregnant and Postpartum Latinas” at the American Diabetes Association conference. Research Associate Brandy Sinco contributed to this presentation.

    Kieffer and Sinco were also co-authors on the poster presentation, "Cost-Effectiveness of Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support in the Community: Projections from a Randomized Controlled Trial"

    Robert Ortega Appointed as the University Faculty Ombuds for the 2018-2019 Academic Year

    Associate Professor Robert Ortega was appointed as the University Faculty Ombuds for the 2018-2019 academic year. The Faculty Ombuds provides an informal, neutral and confidential environment for resolution of disputes to U-M faculty with concerns related to their faculty roles. Robert's social work experience and the respect he has garnered from his peers will be an asset to the Office of the Ombuds.
