Assistant Professor Katie Richards-Schuster received a Sponsored Project Award from the Ginsberg Center for Community and Service Learning. The proposed project builds on the past year's work by developing a series of youth-driven data dialogues. 

Associate Professor Emily Nicklett is awarded Fellow status through the Social Research, Policy, and Practice section of The Gerontology Society of America (GSA). The GSA fellowship—the highest class of membership—is an acknowledgment of her outstanding and continuing work in the field of gerontology.

Postdoctoral Fellow Shanna Kattari is presenting “Pushing Boundaries: Teaching Diverse and ‘Taboo’ Sexuality in Higher Education Settings” at the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists 2018 Annual Conference on June 16th. 

Associate Professor Luke Shaefer presented “Finding New Ways to Prevent and Alleviate Poverty in Michigan, the Nation, and the World” at the Stanford Center on Poverty & Equality.

Terri Gilbert, Director of Operations for the Child and Adolescent Data Lab was appointed to the Michigan Committee on Juvenile Justice by Governor Rick Snyder. The committee advises the governor on juvenile justice issues and guides effective implementation of juvenile justice policies and programs.

Associate Professor Luke Shaefer wrote an op-ed in The Bridge on the consequences of Michigan Medicaid work demand.

Harold R Johnson Professor of Social Work and Sheila Feld Collegiate Professor Robert Taylor received the 2018 Harold R. Johnson Diversity Service Award from the Office of the Provost for his contributions and service to the development of a culturally and ethnically diverse University of Michigan community
