    Joe Ryan Appointed to the Michigan Committee on Juvenile Justice

    Associate Professor Joe Ryan was appointed by Governor Rick Snyder to the Michigan Committee on Juvenile Justice. He will represent public agencies concerned with delinquency prevention or treatment.

    Joe Ryan Receives Award from the Criminal Justice Policy Committee

    Associate Professor Joe Ryan received an award from the Criminal Justice Policy Committee for reviewing the methodology and draft reports studying the fiscal impact of directing minors in Michigan from the adult court and service systems to the family court and juvenile service systems.

    Adrienne Lapidos Team Received Funding from the National Institute of Mental Health

    Assistant Research Scientist Adrienne Lapidos is on a team that received funding from the National Institute of Mental Health for her project “Effectiveness and Implementation of a Peer Mentorship Intervention (PREVAIL) to Reduce Suicide Attempts Among High-Risk Adults” to determine the effectiveness of a peer mentorship intervention for reducing suicide attempts and suicidal ideation among recently hospitalized adult psychiatric patients at high risk for suicide.

    Edie Kieffer Appointed Co-investigator on CMS Award

    Professor Edith C. Kieffer, MPH, Ph.D., is a co-investigator on an award from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) via the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services for ​the evaluation of the Healthy Michigan Plan (HMP), Michigan's Medicaid expansion program under the Affordable Care Act.

    Postdoctoral Fellow Shanna Kattari conducted a talk at the Ford Motor Company World Headquarters called "Death by a Thousand Papercuts: Understanding and Engaging Microaggressions" as part of their International Curious Minds lecture series, and also spoke with their Chief Diversity Officer about DEI initiatives, inclusivity, and accessibility.

Kieffer, MPH, Ph.D., co-authored two policy briefs "Advancing the Profession and Sustainability of Community Health Workers" and "Revisioning the Care Delivery Team: The Role of CHWs within State Innovation Models" that were published by the Center for Healthcare Research and Transformation.

    Edie Kieffer Leading Quality Improvement Project

    Professor Edith C. Kieffer, MPH, Ph.D., is leading a quality improvement project conducted with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, the Michigan Department of Corrections and the University of Michigan's Child Health Evaluation and Research Center. It will generate information about former state prisoners’ enrollment in Michigan’s Medicaid expansion and impact on health care use.
