    Cassie Zwart (MSW '14) Receives Post-Master Fellowship at Colorado State University Health Network

    Cassie Zwart, MSW '14, has received a Post-Master of Social Work Fellowship at Colorado State University Health Network. The fellowship is designed to prepare individuals for a staff position in a university counseling service, with particular emphasis on the integration of mental health and medical services.

    David Pollio, PhD '94, has been named chair of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Social Work.

    Dr. Harry Hunter (MSW '77) Elected to City of Detroit's Brush Park Park Citizens District Council

    Dr. Harry Hunter, MSW '77, was recently elected to serve on the City of Detroit’s Brush Park Citizens District Council for a three-year term ending on May 1, 2017.  In 2009 he was the recipient of the Spirit of Detroit Award for exceptional achievement, outstanding leadership, and dedication to improving the quality of life in Detroit.  He is a faculty member in the University of Southern California, SSW Virtual Academic Center, Los Angeles, CA.

    Jennifer Dubow (MSW '88) Becomes Certified Yoga Instructor

    Jennifer Dubow, MSW '88, recently became a certified child yoga instructor.  This program teaches children how to use yoga to manage anxiety as well as improve attention and social skills.

    Judy Ebersole, MSW '88, was named the 2013 Kansas School Social Worker of the Year and recognized at the Midwest School Social Worker Conference.

    Kayla Mason (MSW '11) Director of Youth Voice in Detroit

    Kayla Mason, MSW '11, is the Director of YOUTH VOICE in Detroit, a project of the Harriet Tubman Center.  In April 2014, she led a march of 150 youth and adult allies from Detroit to Lansing to urge schools to adopt policies that limit lengthy expulsions and suspensions to the most serious offenses.

    Lilita Matison, MSW '00, published her first children’s book called, "Bye-Bye Butterflies: Seven Ways To Breathe Out Worry".

    Marcia Naomi (Fisch) Berger, MSW '68, a psychotherapist and clinical social worker, had a book published in February of this year.  The book is titled Marriage Meetings for Lasting Love: 30 Minutes a Week to the Relationship You’ve Always Wanted.
