Can I transfer in courses toward the Social Work Essentials or MasterTrack Certificate?

No. The Certificates do not award "credit"; instead, they allow you to reduce the number of credits you take if you come to the University of Michigan School of Social Work. There are not any credits that can be transferred in toward the completion of the Social Work Essentials or MasterTrack Certificate.

If a student believes they have covered all of the courses that comprise the Social Work Essentials certificate, they may be able to transfer them into the Online or On-Campus MSW program. This would allow a student in the Online MSW program to enter without the Social Work Essentials Certificate. A student in the On-Campus MSW program can reduce the credits needed to complete their MSW degree if they have transfer credit.
