Nitesh Singh

Nitesh Singh is a field faculty member and a Lecturer III at the University of Michigan School of Social Work.

Singh’s teaching and scholarship focuses on interventions that address social and political polarization, community-engaged program and policy development, as well as the application of a social work approach to the management and leadership of organizations.

Singh is an expert trainer of students, faculty and staff in the development and facilitation of intergroup dialogue curriculum. He has worked to advance intergroup dialogue on college campuses across the country, including through his role as a member of the board of directors of the Difficult Dialogues National Resource Center.

Additionally, Singh is a student affairs professional who has worked to create a culture of student support in higher education through leadership roles in advising and academic program management. As co-chair of the board of directors of the Association of Social Workers in Higher Education, Singh works nationally to promote higher education as a practice area for social workers. Singh has also worked as a clinical therapist in private practice, specializing in college student mental health.
