SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES
Position Overview

The Curtis Center is seeking a highly organized and motivated Project Coordinator to join our team. This role will be grant funded and help support two Principal Investigators with their research portfolios and coordinating their current projects. It includes project coordination and supervising research assistants (bachelors/masters students). The ideal candidate is optimistic, a strong communicator, skilled in problem-solving, and thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Examples of Current Studies:
MenDIII: Tests the feasibility, acceptability, and effectiveness of exercise and cognitive behavioral therapy for the treatment of depression and glycemic management in African American men with type 2 diabetes and depression.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate daily operations and logistics for assigned projects
Schedule and lead weekly team meetings for studies
Manage and support student research assistants
Track project timelines, deliverables, and outcomes
Recruit and screen study participants
Conduct health assessments in community locations
Handle conflict resolution and provide appropriate support to stakeholders
Maintain organized records, reports, and data tracking systems
Manage supply inventory and relationships with external vendors (e.g., Abbott, Fitbit)
Oversee study interventionist coordination and communication
Assist with planning meetings, workshops, and other events
Perform other administrative or coordination tasks as assigned

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or a related field
1–3 years of relevant experience in a research or clinical role
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism
Comfortable working in a hybrid (in-person and remote) setting

Preferred:
Academic research experience
Experience supervising/managing student support
Experience with the Institutional Review Board and REDCap Software

Additional Information
This is a hybrid position, with in-person work expected on the Ann Arbor campus or in the community (Detroit/Ypsilanti), depending on project needs.
