Michelle Woods, MSW Student Career Services Director, will receive a University of Michigan Distinguished Diversity Leaders Award as a member of the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (I.D.E.A.) Committee Team. The Distinguished Diversity Leaders Award was established to shine a light on U-M staff members who work toward achieving a welcoming, supportive and inclusive working environment.
The I.D.E.A. team enhances inclusion, diversity and equity at U-M through:
- Staff training and competencies development
- Resource development and knowledge sharing
- Collaborative programming for students
- Employer and vendor best practices sharing
“Next semester, the I.D.E.A. team is organizing a training session examining recruiter behaviors in hiring and knowledge of diversity in candidate pools,” said Michelle Woods, MSW Student Career Services Director. “Several industries and schools will be attending the session. The I.D.E.A. programs and trainings keep important and timely topics around DEI on the forefront of our colleagues’ minds.”
